HOLD YOUR FACE TO THE LIGHT

November 23

Believe with greater trust. Lift your face toward the Light, even if for now it feels unseen.

AS BILL SEES IT, p. 3

One October morning, during meditation, I looked out at the ash tree in our yard. Its golden leaves glowed brilliantly, a breathtaking reminder of God’s artistry. Within minutes, the branches stood bare as the leaves fell away. At first, I felt sadness thinking of the long winter ahead. But as I reflected on the rhythm of the seasons, a deeper message came through. Just as trees shed their leaves to prepare for new blossoms in spring, God had gently removed my selfish, compulsive ways so that I could grow into a sober, joyful member of A.A.

Today, I give thanks for the changing seasons and for the gift of transformation in my ever-evolving life.
